R.E. Olds Transportation Museum – Assembled in Lansing: Building a Workforce. Building a Union
Project Overview
The R.E. Olds Transportation Museum partnered with Capital Imaging and designer Jennifer Lohman of Soloh Focus to create a permanent exhibit highlighting Lansing’s rich labor and automotive manufacturing history.
The exhibit, titled Assembled in Lansing: Building a Workforce. Building a Union, explores the evolution of labor rights, workforce development, and the impact of organized labor on Lansing’s automotive industry. Designed as a permanent educational installation, the exhibit combines historical storytelling with durable museum-quality fabrication and ADA-accessible visitor interaction.
The museum sought to create a visually engaging exhibit that would educate visitors about Lansing’s labor history while complementing the existing museum environment.
The exhibit required:
